Wedding Tables on a Budget

One of the most important parts of a wedding is the reception celebration. This is the time and place where family and friends gather to enjoy food, music, dancing and the ambiance of the setting around them. There is no better way for a bride and groom to maintain the theme of their wedding than to incorporate it into their table settings and the rest of their decor.

The tables that are decorated for the reception are a huge part of the entire theme. The tables are where the family and friends will gather to eat, drink and have a good time. There are so many different styles to choose from when it comes to wedding table decor and here are a few ideas for those that want to have outstanding table decor without breaking the bank.



Going the less-expensive route
Sometimes one of the best ways to save on table decorations is to spend less money on some of the items that would normally be more expensive. Flowers are one of the most important elements to any wedding and many couples incorporate them into their table settings, as well. An alternative to purchasing real flowers for each table would be to buy imitation flowers instead. Fake flowers can look real and can be just as elegant as the real deal. Real flowers can be very expensive and they are not going to last long after the wedding is over. This can make you feel like you have wasted a lot of money on something that is simply going to go to waste. At the very least, go to your city's business district (or a neighboring city) and find a flower mart or wholesaler.

Candles can be a nice part of a table setting, but unless you are using very large candles or candleholders for the flowers to wrap around you may not achieve the look you are after. Large candles can be very costly and finding something to do with them after the wedding is over can be hard to figure out. A great alternative to this is to purchase medium sized glass bowls for each table and fill them with water. Then you can purchase tea candles, which are very inexpensive and viola, you will have a floating candle centerpiece next to which you can incorporate your imitation flowers (around the glass bowls).

Rent to win
Renting your table decor is another option for you. Many wedding planners offer you a choice of renting the decorations and table linens as well. This can help to save money and ease the frustration of having to worry about where you are going to store all the remaining items once the party is over. This can be time consuming and frustrating, especially to new couples that simply want to jaunt off on their honeymoon once the reception is over and not leave their relatives and friends to clean up the aftermath.



If you have assigned seating at your wedding, then you will most likely have place cards on each table. Purchasing these cards through a printer can cost a lot of money, so you can save money on place cards by doing them yourself. You can purchase variously colored cards, holders and other items from many stationery stores that offer wedding supplies and paper products. The holders can include bride and groom figurines, silver wedding bells and gold heart wireframes, as well. These are a surefire hit at any wedding as they add a personal touch to all of the tables. You can even choose to do different styles for each table, or if you know that a relative or friend has a favorite color, you can personalize the settings that way, too.

There are so many options available to save money on your wedding tables that the possibilities are endless. Remember that you want to purchase items for a wedding that will do the job they need to, but are also easily disposed of afterwards. Saving money is the key to a successful and no-stress wedding day for those on a budget. So, gather your list and do some shopping around before you buy, and you are guaranteed to have a blissful, beautiful and budget-friendly wedding that has all the style and class you could ask for.
